Minimum Game Requirements

Teams participating in the MADE league must schedule 8 league games to qualify to participate in the end of season tournament that is included in the league registration. If teams have to cancel games due to weather, the enforcement of the 8 game minimum rule will be at the sole discretion of the director. MADE Baseball encourages traditional "tournament teams" to play in the league by offering flexibility of scheduling. Teams will submit their availability, blackout dates (tournament weekends), and MADE baseball will schedule games on each teams available days based on the criteria that is submitted.

Umpires

MADE Baseball has partnered with several professional umpire associations to provide umpires throughout Maryland and Delaware. Umpires will be scheduled by MADE Baseball & the umpire associations. The umpire assignor fees will be paid by MADE Baseball.

Rosters

For the Spring MADE League, rosters need to be submitted prior to the start of the season. Guest players are allowed to participate, but must be reported using the Manager Portal. A maximum of 3 guest players are allowed, and they must be classified as the same class (i.e. AA, AAA, Major) or lower as the team they are guest playing for.

Time Limits

League games will be the same duration as tournaments. 7U-12U is 6 innings, with no new inning beginning after 1:45. There is a drop dead time of 2:00. 13U-18U is 7 innings, with no new inning beginning after 1:45. There is a drop dead time of 2:00. These time restrictions are important as umpires often times leave one field to umpire another game. These time restrictions will ensure umpires can travel between games to ensure all games are covered.

Classifications

The age groups will be divided into two divisions each (depending on the number of registrants). There will be an AA division, in which only teams classified as AA will be able to participate. There will be an OPEN division, in which any team can participate. The OPEN division is designed to mostly accommodate AAA & Major level teams.

9U & 10U Open Divisions

The 9U and 10U open divisions will be played on 46/60 or 46/65 fields, with the preference being 46/65. If the hosting team has both field layouts available, the 46/65 should be used. The 9U and 10U OPEN divisions will use the standard USSSA rules, including leads, balks, stealing, infield fly rules, and dropped third strike.

9U & 10U AA Division

The 9U and 10U AA division will be played on 46/60. The 9U and 10U OPEN divisions will use the standard USSSA rules, except there will be no leads, balks, stealing, infield fly rule, or dropped third strike. In the event that a 9U or 10U AA team is playing an AAA or Major level team, these rules apply unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon by both coaches prior to the start of the game.

14U AA Division

As can be seen in the 2026 season USSSA rules, they have changed the rule for 14U to require players to use a -3 BBCOR bat. For the 14U AA division, players will be able to use the -5 USSSA bats for the 2026 season. The basis for this decision is to allow players to use the bats they purchased for the fall. MADE Baseball believes changing this policy after the Fall league started and bats were already purchased would be unfair to families and participants. It is important to note however, for MADE tournaments a -3 BBCOR will be required for all 14U events.

14U OPEN Division

Teams competing in this division will be required to use -3 BBCOR bats. This division is following the 2026 season USSSA rules.

Score Reporting

MADE Baseball will track scores and enter them in the USSSA system. Scores can be reported to you age group coordinator, or sent directly to MADE Baseball via email. Please do not text your scores, as this becomes difficult to track.

Standings

Standings for the event will be updated throughout the season. The points ranking and power ranking will be updated at the conclusion of the spring season league. USSSA does not take game results into consideration from leagues during the season for the points or power ranking.

End of Season Tournament

By dividing into separate classes for teams to play in during the season, MADE Baseball believes this will assist in providing a fair & competitive end of season tournament. The end of season tournament will use the seedings from the league to schedule pool play games. Random seeding will not be used (this gives teams something to play for during the season). The tournament will be divided into two pool play games on Friday or Saturday. Then single elimination games will start on Sunday.
